In the mission to empower students with technical skills required to design and develop a complete, cost-effective and feasible social and environmental income-generating project, a seminar on “Technical capacitation of project leaders” was organized by the Student Support Program (SSP) ESSAMBA,  at JAONES HOTEL from the 20th-25th of April 2018. In all, 30 students (from the focal points Maroua, Yaoundé, Douala, Mbouo) were selected and privileged to be trained by Mr. Mouafo Valentin, Senior Trainer Consultant, Director of the DIACT CABINET with 20 years of working experience in the sector of development.

During the session, participants were group according to their respective focal points in order to facilitate exercises on business plan writing given by the trainer. Each focal point brought up a project, see projects below;

Point Focal Bamenda: Project on honey bee farming and the marketing of honey/honey bee cone.

Point Focal Yaoundé: Project on the manufacture of plastic packaging and kitchen utensils based on plastic waste.

Point Focal Douala: Youth consulting services

Point Focal Maroua: Project on the manufacture of compressed bricks using clays.

However, participants were proud to say; they have mastered the basic concepts, acquired project feasibility study techniques, understood and can develop the outline of a business plan, mastered the sources, the mechanisms of research financing and can also manage financial, administrative aspects of a project.
